Since its establishment, SHEMAR electric power R & D center has always adhered to technological innovation to lead the development of enterprises, with two national R & D platforms: National Key Laboratory of energy and Power Insulation Composites (National Key Laboratory [Guoneng science and Technology (2014) No. 393] approved on August 21, 2014), and post-doctoral research workstation; Three provincial R & D platforms: Jiangsu transmission and substation equipment composite external insulation engineering technology research center, Jiangsu Province (SHEMAR) power composite materials and equipment research center, Jiangsu Province recognized enterprise technology center. The State Key Laboratory consists of material technology research room, process technology research room, product development department, high voltage technology research room, pilot plant, comprehensive management department and intellectual property management department.
Over the years, SHEMAR power has always been guided by "solving industry problems and meeting market demand", based on the research of polymer materials, composite materials, high voltage insulation and structural mechanics, through material innovation, design innovation and process innovation, developed a series of new products of external insulation for power transmission (substation) and distribution, and widely used in the global power system. It has made outstanding contribution to the realization of the double zero of operation and maintenance cost and accident loss caused by external insulation in the field of transmission (substation) and distribution.
As of December 31, 2020, SHEMAR power has 240 domestic patents and 52 international patents. Participated in or led the formulation of 34 standards of State Grid Corporation of China, industry, China Southern Power Grid Corporation, and national and international standards. The company vigorously promotes the construction of experimental research resources, and has a variety of test platforms, such as material laboratory for composite insulator research and development, electrical performance test platform, mechanical performance test platform, sealing performance test platform, etc. the comprehensive experimental research ability has reached the international leading level.
At the beginning of SHEMAR’s establishment, the company took solving the industry pain point as its original intention and attached great importance to the introduction and cultivation of high-end scientific and technological talents. From the first generation of power industry experts to the high-tech R&D team, R & D personnel lead SHEMAR from scratch and from small to large.
Relying on the national energy and power composite materials laboratory, SHEMAR power has carried out cooperative development and technical research with Tsinghua University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China Electric Power Research Institute, power grid technology research center of China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd., Northwest Electric Power Design Institute and other scientific research institutions, and cooperated with CSEE, IEEE, CIGRE, CBIP and other industry associations at home and abroad in standard formulation and revision Extensive cooperation has been formed in technology exchange, new technology and new product display, etc.
Over the years, relying on the innovation of R & D projects, standards and patents of the R & D center, SHEMAR has won the special prize of national science and technology progress award twice in 2012 and 2017, and has won national and provincial awards and honors for many times.
