Learn about the latest company, products, business news and technological developments of SHEMAR POWER. Every day, SHEMAR is bringing safer and more economical electric energy closer to you.
Shemar recently secured the second phase of Chile's Kimal-Lo Aguirre ±600kV HVDC project. Having won the first phase in 2024, Shemar has thus become the sole insulator supplier for this project's transmission lines.
This 3-million-kW, 1,500-km project through the Atacama Desert demands high-performance insulators due to harsh UV and pollution conditions. Shemar's proprietary long-life composite insulators, with superior anti-pollution flashover and anti-aging capabilities, offer the best technical solution.
Developed by Conexión, which is composed of Transelec S.A., ISA Vías en Chile, and China Southern Power Grid, the project will drive 2025 carbon peak goals.
Notably, Shemar Latam has won the bid for the third phase of Brazil's Belo Monte ±800kV UHVDC project to provide its long-life composite insulators for the whole 1,468-km transmission line, part of the national megaproject. The project channels northern Brazil's hydropower to the southeastern market, balancing the country's energy distribution.
Leveraging our technical excellence in long-life composite transmission line insulators, Shemar ensures the reliability of these landmark HVDC projects in Chile and Brazil—driving a more resilient and sustainable Latin American power grid.
